La gens Aufidia était une famille plébéienne à Rome, qui n’est connue que dans les derniers temps de la République. Le premier membre à obtenir le consulat fut Gnaeus Aufidius Orestes, en 71 av. J.-C. [1]
Les cognomines des Aufidii sous la République sont Lurco et Oreste. Gnaeus Aufidius Orestes descendait des Aurelii Orestides, mais a été adopté par l’historien Gnaeus Aufidius dans sa vieillesse. [2]
